The Allen County Commissioners met Wednesday morning and decided who will serve as the new interim sheriff until a new one is selected.
After former sheriff, Sam Crish served his last day in office, the Allen County Commissioners appointed Chief Deputy, Jim Everett as the new interim sheriff until the Republican Party finds the right candidate.
Everett says that as chief deputy, he's been running the sheriff's office since September of 2016, when Crish was in and out of the office handling both legal and personal issues. "Everything's going to continue to as is, there's not going to be any changes, Staff Lieutenant Treglia has been assisting me the whole time and that will continue, we have a good working relationship and together along with the other supervisors and staff at the sheriff's office, everybody has done an excellent job."
Everett says he won't be making any changes until the Republican Party appoints a permanent sheriff.
