LIMA, OH (WLIO) - China has filed sanctions against two U.S. companies, one of which has direct ties to Lima.
China has frozen the assets of General Dynamics Land Systems. They claim the reasoning behind the sanctions is because the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center in Lima makes the Abrams tank, some of which are being sold to Taiwan. China claims Taiwan as its own territory, which they say will be taken back by force if necessary. If that confrontation were to occur, China would be fighting against Lima-built tanks. The sanctions also bar General Dynamics management from coming into the country.
The other U.S. company sanctioned is General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, which produces the Reaper and Predator drones. Your Hometown Stations has reached out to General Dynamics for comment.
