City councilman hosts info session for new treatment program

A Lima city councilman is attempting to bring an alternative treatment for opiate and other addictions to Lima.

Derry Glenn is hosting an information session on January 24th about Luna Living. The session will be at the Veterans Memorial Civic and Convention Center at 5:30 p.m. Luna Living is a medical outpatient program based out of Chagrin Falls, Ohio. They focus on recovery efforts for opioid, alcohol and other related addictions through a 90 day recovery program that starts with a ten day detox. Glenn invites all community members to the info session to help solve a community problem.

"Any way we can slow it down, any way we can stop the growth of it," Glenn said. "That's what my main goal is. My goal is not to bring something to Lima that no one wants. That's the reason I'm inviting them out, so you can hear about this and learn about it. So we can adopt this program."

Registration for the info session will be $5.
