LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The City of Lima continues their work to diversify the businesses they do business with.
The Department of Workforce and Small Business Development is encouraging small, minority, women, and veteran-owned businesses to attend an open house next Wednesday to learn how they can get contract work with the City of Lima. While it is labeled a "Mowing Expo", it will offer resources for these types of entrepreneurs to learn what is needed to get work awarded to them.
"So we want to diversify who we do business with. So we want to make sure that we are investing here within the city and with smaller businesses, larger businesses and we want to be more tuned in to what we have here from our own business owners, entrepreneurs, and provide those pathways and opportunities for residents," explained Amber Martin, Department of Workforce & Small Business Development.
Wednesday, February 1st will be the "Mowing Expo" at Lima Senior High School cafeteria from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The city has packets for smaller mowing bids along with the resources and technical assistance for the process to apply for contracted work with the city in general.
