A grant of $30,000 was awarded through the Ohio Mayors Alliance as part of their Complete to Compete Challenge. The money will go toward helping students and their parents completing the FAFSA forms. Lima City Schools will organize three events that will provide the assistance needed for the free application to federal student aid.

"We want to make sure that everybody understands that we want all kids to have a plan beyond graduation, whether it be college, military, entering into the workforce, we want all kids to have a solid plan," said Jill Ackerman, Superintendent of Lima City Schools.

"We want to be involved in this because the main goal of the AT&T Foundation is to help young people graduate from high school and have a path forward for success," commented Mark Romito, AT&T Ohio Director of External Affairs.

The grant is $30,000 and Lima was one of only seven cities in the State of Ohio to receive the funding. The City of Lima is adding an extra $5,000.
