College credit earned during Japanese culture camp

High school students from California to New Jersey are in Ada to learn about a country half a world away.

Ohio Northern University is hosting more than a dozen high school students from across the country during their annual U.S. Japan camp.  The camp is for freshman through seniors who want to learn Japanese, experience Japanese culture, and earn college credit.

This is the second week of camp.  Wednesday, students shared presentations about Japanese history.  However, other sessions range from Japanese etiquette to calligraphy.

Many of the participants say what they're learning at camp will help them achieve future goals such as living in Japan.

This camp is taking place at the same time a camp for students from Japan is taking place so both groups are able to share and learn from each other.
