Hoping to spark an interest in people in our area to get a green thumb.
A community gardening forum was held Thursday night at American Legion Post 96 in Lima. Four area agencies came together, including the Allen Soil and Water Conservation District, talking about how local organizations can assist with gardening education and what they have to offer. They answered questions on what the community's needs are for gardening issues. A meal was provided and people ranging from experts to gardening novices were in the crowd.
"Our goal is to see what do the gardeners need from us, in terms of our resources. We'd like to see a monthly forum where we're educating the group on different subjects and learning from one another," said Beth seibert, storm water and watershed programs coordinator.
