LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Area residents will have a chance to see what's behind the chain link fence at the Lima Noon Optimist's Safety City this Saturday.

Thousands of kids have gone through the programming at Safety City but there are still people out there that have never heard of it. Safety Officer Eric Mericle is inviting the public out to take the grand tour and see what all has changed over the years.

"So it's time to bring it out so when people drive by there I want people to say, I want my kids to go there. I want kids to look at it and say wow mom and dad check that place out. Cause we do so many amazing things with the children. With the survive alive house, the bicycle safety, all these things we teach them. So I just want people to come out for this open house and experience what we do," said Officer Eric Mericle, Lima Noon Optimist Safety City.
The open house is this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be bounce houses, sidewalk drawing, a dunk tank, and food. The Lima Noon Optimist Safety City was founded in 1978.
