Friday October 25, 2024
0239 hrs. –Deputies observed a suspicious vehicle in an area of Tully Street in the Village of Convoy. After further investigation and testing, the driver of the vehicle was charged with a First-Degree misdemeanor of Driving Under the Influence, and a Minor-Misdemeanor of Open Liquor Container. Bailee Joseph Puckett age 24 of Convoy was issued a citation and summons for court.
0445 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Defiance Trail Road for a motor vehicle crash involving a deer, no injuries were reported.
0542 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on Main Street in the Village of Convoy for a subject who had fallen.
0715 hrs. – Deputies along with Convoy Fire and EMS responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 for a motor vehicle crash. Unit One was exiting off U.S. Route 224 ramp towards U.S. Route 30 west bound negotiating the curve and ran off the left side of the road, into the ditch, and came to rest on the embankment just north of the roadway at U.S. Route 30 westbound lane. Unit One suffered disabling damage and the driver of Unit One was transported to Van Wert Health by Convoy EMS for complaints of head pain. Unit One was towed from the scene by Superior Collision. Driver of Unit One stated he was trying to find the brake to slow down and hit the gas and accelerated. Unit One was a 2010 Ford Flex driven by Marlin L. Wittung of Van Wert.
0726 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Franklin Street in the Village of Convoy on a complaint of a loose dog.
0759 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a resident from Lincoln Highway in Tully Township on a complaint of telecommunications harassment.
0933 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Lincoln Highway in Ridge Township for a report of a motor vehicle crash. The incident was investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
0954 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Collins Avenue in the City of Van Wert for a subject who had fallen.
1013 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a resident from Carmean Street in the Village of Ohio City for a complaint of identity fraud.
1053 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Ward Road in Tully Township for a report of a loose dog. 1140 hrs. – Deputies spoke with a resident from Mentzer Road in Tully Township for a complaint of misuse of a credit card.
1145 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township for a report of a loose dog.
1234 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Lincoln Highway in the City of Delphos for a report of two loose dogs.
1313 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Washington Township for a report of domestic violence. Angel Mae Diamond Jade Rorer age 20 of Washington Township was arrested and charged with Fourth-Degree Felony Domestic Violence, and Fourth-Degree Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct. She was transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.
1453 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert EMS to a residence on Dog Creek Road in Ridge Township for a subject with back pain.
1514 hrs. – Deputies along with Convoy Fire and EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on U.S. Route 30 near the Indiana State Line. The incident was found to have occurred in Indiana and was investigated by Indiana authorities.
1719 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on U.S. Route 224 in Pleasant Township for a complaint of criminal mischief.
1831 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Richey Road in Union Township to contact a resident for Indiana authorities.
1942 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Pleasant Township to assist a disabled motorist.
2157 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 224 in Harrison Township for a motor vehicle crash involving a deer, no injuries were reported.
2155 hrs. – Dispatched Wren EMS and Van Wert EMS to a residence on Harrison Willshire Road in Harrison Township for a subject having difficulty breathing.

0357 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 224 in Pleasant Township attempting to locate a vehicle for the Van Wert Police.
0538 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Plum Street in the Village of Venedocia for a report of a domestic dispute.
0804 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 127 in Liberty Township to check an abandoned 911 call.
0920 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township for a motor vehicle crash involving a dog, no injuries were reported.
1001 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on State Route 49 in Harrison Township for a subject with chest pain.
1026 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Vine Street in the City of Van Wert for a report of a loose dog.
1122 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area Middle Point Wetzel Road in Jackson Township for a motor vehicle crash involving a bird, no injuries were reported.
1256 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Colwell Road in Union Township for a complaint of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The vehicle was later located.
1355 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Pleasant Township to contact a resident for Paulding County.
1453 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Pleasant Township for a complaint of reckless operation.
1620 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Pollock Road in Tully Township for a report of domestic violence. The suspect in the incident left prior to deputies’ arrival. A warrant has been issued for the suspect, Mandy Shea Jones age 37 of Fort Wayne Indiana.
1826 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Washington Street in the City of Van Wert to assist the Van Wert Police.
1846 hrs. – Dispatched the Convoy Marshal to a residence on Dealey Drive in the Village of Convoy for a report of breaking and entering, and theft from an outbuilding.
1851 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on Beamer Street in the Village of Convoy for a subject having a seizure.
1915 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on State Route 49 in Tully Township to standby for a child exchange.
1925 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence in the Village of Middle Point to standby as a peace officer.
1940 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Tully Township to assist a disabled motorist.
1959 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township attempting to locate a subject who may have been in mental distress.
2014 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Wren Landeck Road in York Township for a report of a suspicious subject.
2153 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Washington Street in the Village of Ohio City for a complaint of a subject trespassing.
2249 hrs. – Deputies conducted a routine traffic stop on South Washington Street in the City of Van Wert. During the stop it was discovered that a subject had an active warrant issued out of Van Wert Municipal Court. Eric Seth Pedemonti age 34 Van Wert was transported to the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.
2341 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Fox Road in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.
2344 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Washington Township for a complaint of reckless driving.

0145 hrs. – Dispatched Convoy EMS to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Tully Township for a subject who fell. 0353 hrs. – Dispatched Van Wert Fire to residential fire alarm on South Shannon Street in the City of Van Wert.
0432 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Middle Point Wetzel Road in Washington Township for a report of a utility pole and lines down in the roadway. By debris left at the scene it is believed the pole was struck by a 2008 Ford F450. The incident remains under investigation.
1005 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residential alarm at a location on John Brown Road in Pleasant Township.
1046 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Adams Street in the Village of Middle Point to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.
1058 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residence on Lincoln Highway in Washington Township for a report of a mailbox being struck.
1102 hrs. – Dispatched Wren EMS to a residence on U.S. Route 33 in Willshire Township for a subject having severe pain.
1147 hrs. – Deputies responded to a location on Jennings Road in the City of Van Wert to assist a motorist locked out of their vehicle.
1201 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of State Route 116 in York Township for a report of a lose dog.
1411 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of South Walnut Street in the City of Van Wert to a loose dog.
1431 hrs. – Dispatched Ohio City Fire to assist with a fire on State Route 118 in Mercer County.
1438 hrs. – Deputies along with Middle Point Fire and EMS responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township. The incident was investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
1512 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Masters Road in Jennings Township for a report of a loose dog.
1526 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of U.S. Route 30 in Ridge Township for a dog that was involved passenger in an earlier (1438) motor vehicle crash.
1531 hrs. – Dispatched Grover Hill EMS to a residence on Middle Point Wetzel Road in Jackson Township for a subject that had fallen.
1648 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of John Yoh Road in Hoaglin Township for a complaint of hunters trespassing.
1923 hrs. – Deputies responded to an area of Liberty Union Road in Union Township for a complaint of motorcyclist sitting along the roadway with no lights.
2034 hrs. – Deputies assisted the Van Wert Police with a motor vehicle crash on Shannon Street in the City of Van Wert.
2320 hrs. – Deputies served a warrant issued by Van Wert County Common Pleas Court for a Bond Violation. Joshua D. Sargent age 43 of Van Wert is being held at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility.
2348 hrs. – Deputies responded to a residential alarm on Shenk Road in Washington Township.
