Over two hundred local residents and people from out of town all gathered Sunday afternoon for the historic "No Sun Run" 5K event on the day before the eclipse. The event's organizer and member of the Delphos Running Club, Mandy Weimerskirch, was encouraged from the Canal Commission last year to create an event that people from outside and around the area can come partake in while cheering on their loved ones and friends as they look forward to Monday's event.

"This morning, before same-day registration, we had over 220 people registered. So, it's a great turnout, especially for this time of year because you can never know what the weather is going to be like. I'm glad we were able to provide something for all the people coming in out of town. We had people from Maryland, Michigan, and North Carolina, so it's going to be a great race," said Weimerskirch.

Weimskirch made sure to give a special thanks to Jefferson High School for allowing her to host the event, as well as Jefferson's Jeff Caputo for the role he played in making the event happen.
