The Allen County Emergency Management Agency suggests having a winter kit in your car in case of emergency. With the drifting and blowing snow there is a good chance that you could lose control of your vehicle and end up in a ditch. Here is what emergency responders suggest doing.

Allen County EMA Director Tom Berger explains, “Make sure you have your cell phone charger with you so you can call for help. We always stress that you have an extra blanket in the car. Maybe some non-perishable food items, a granola bar or whatnot, and some water for you. If you do get stuck go ahead and contact authorities.”

When you call 9-1-1, they can get you medical help and or a tow truck to help.
