VAN WERT, Ohio (WLIO) - An investigation is underway into a large amount of drugs discovered in a Van Wert home.
The Van Wert Police Department says that officers and Van Wert EMS were called out to a house in the 700 block of North Washington Street on Sunday for reports of a possible overdose. A man was found unresponsive in the house and was transported, and officers discovered several drug items in plain view.
After a search warrant, the police department reports that they confiscated a large number of drugs and other items, including THC vape pens and cartridges, marijuana, cocaine, and several rifles and a flamethrower. The police are asking parents and grandparents to examine the packaging of the vape pens and cartridges, because police suspect they may have been marketed towards children under 18.
Van Wert County Prosecutor Eva Yarger will be reviewing the evidence for future charges. Anyone that may have information about drug sales or trafficking is encouraged to contact the Van Wert Police Department at (419) 238-2462.
