A local nonprofit is showing off the work of those in their program.
The Expression of Recovery is an exhibit that will be on display at The Meeting Place on Market from February 17th until February 28th. The exhibit is paintings made by people who have mental health or drug use challenges and were made over 7 different Creative Wellness Workshops performed by the nonprofit Voices of Prosperity. The purpose is to lift the stigma, spread awareness, and raise the humanity of those in recovery, and a way to put feelings into art.
Megan Fisher, Founder and Executive Director of Voices of Prosperity said, “A lot of times folks have trouble putting their feelings and their emotions into words. We have found through our creative workshops that when guests have the freedom to express themselves with no rules, they are usually quite surprised with what comes out of that process.”
