A business on the south side of Lima goes up in flames Monday morning.
The Lima Fire Department was called out around 8:30 a.m. to the E-Z Che'k at the corner of Catalpa Street and St. Johns Avenue. Firefighters say smoke was pouring out of the front of the building and fire crews attacked the fire from all sides to try and control the blaze. Fire investigators were brought in to determine the cause of the fire, which is believed to be electrical in nature. The building is a complete loss. The store was closed at the time of the fire. Firefighters had to pry metal bars off a back door to get at the fire.
The Shawnee Fire Department was brought in for mutual aid.
