Fort Jennings sets the stage for Fort Fest Weekend

Every year Fort Jennings comes alive to salute the military for the weekend. The weekend festival includes war reenactments, traveling exhibits, a military war vehicle display and runs from August 18-20.

There will also be a kids camp called Fort Jennings Camp 1812 - along with food and multiple tributes to unknown soldiers throughout the day. The festival is free but airplane rides will be offered for a fee and there will be a wine tasting as well featuring five wineries from around west-central Ohio.

“All of these exhibits that you can come see: the static helicopters that you can climb in, the memorabilia that you can learn about, and the 1812 village. All of that is of no charge to the public. We also offer free entertainment,” said Dr. Wes Klir of the Fort Jennings Memorial.

The opening ceremony will take place Friday at 4 p.m.
