Four injured in Sunday's crash that involved a cruiser from the Logan County Sheriff's Office

LOGAN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - New details coming from Logan County after four people were sent to area hospitals following a two-vehicle crash involving a Logan County Sheriff's cruiser.

The crash occurred just after 5:15 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of U.S. Route 68 and County Road 57. According to the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 27-year-old Benny Stacey with the Logan County Sheriff's Office was traveling north on 68 for an emergency response with the overhead lights turned on. While in active response, Stacey attempted to pass a northbound vehicle being operated by a 15-year-old female on the left, but the female minor attempted to turn westbound onto County Road 57 resulting in a collision by the cruiser and four injuries.

44-year-old Heath Murphy of Bellefontaine was transported by Med Flight to Grant Medical Center with serious but non-life threatening injuries while the female minor, Stacey, and Stacey's passenger, 29-year-old Zach Sheeley of Bellefontaine, were transported by ambulance to Mary Rutan Health for minor injuries.
