WAPAKONETA, OH (WLIO) - Ohio's First Lady promoted the Imagination Library to kids in Wapakoneta.

Fran DeWine read to kids at Wapakoneta Elementary School a book titled "Coat of Many Colors". The book tells a story about Dolly Parton and her coat that was made for her when she was in school. The First Lady Spoke on the importance of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, and how it has helped prepare kids to start their academic careers.

"It promotes reading at an early age and you know we have a couple of things we know, you know, a child's brain is 80% developed by the time they are 3 so we want to start early and kids that that get these books for 3 years, we've shown there's a Cincinnati Children's Hospital study that showed that they come up 15 points on kindergarten readiness, so they really up to the start line when they start kindergartens," said Fran DeWine, First Lady of Ohio.
