Over 1,000 people took part in the annual Freedom 5k.. While the rest of the Star Spangled Spectacular was postponed because of some areas around Faurot park, organizers say Mother Nature was good to them over the last few days to make sure they didn't have to change the road course and they added they were happy to see all the runners and the patriotism at this years race. Former Shawnee Runner and current coach of the newly formed Ashland University Cross Country team Thomas Scott crossed the finish line first with a time just over 15 minutes.
