LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Hundreds of mums were picked up this week as part of the Friends of the Lima Symphony Orchestra’s annual fundraiser.

More than 500 chrysanthemums were sold in the group’s yearly sale. Founded in 1955, the Friends of the Lima Symphony Orchestra is a support organization that raises funds and helps enhance cultural offerings throughout the region.

“We're just a group that enjoys the music, and we want to assist with the symphony and provide them with funding, and that's our function, is to support them in any way we can do,” said Jean Zink, president of the Friends of the Lima Symphony Orchestra.

The organization holds several fundraisers each year and is always looking for new members. Its Autumn Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 10. More information about the group’s mission can be found at limasymphony.com under the “Education and Community” tab.
