LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - More than 100 people filled the Civic Center on Thursday night for Downtown Lima’s Game Show Extravaganza.
Many contestants got the chance to show off their retail knowledge as they played games inspired by some of the most popular game shows from the 1970s and ’80s, such as "Price is Right" and "Family Feud."
Those lucky enough to make it to Contestants' Row had the opportunity to win a variety of prizes donated by local businesses. All funds raised during the event go directly to Downtown Lima Inc. to support future projects.
"So this is our annual fundraiser. So this is to help fund us throughout the entire year, to fill in the gaps between our other fundraising events, to help keep our lights on, to keep our community events free and accessible to everybody. So it's very important that when we have an annual fundraiser like this, that we gain as much community support and funds as possible," said Cricket Rodriguez, executive director of Downtown Lima Inc.
Rodriguez also said the organization had more than $10,000 worth of prizes available to be given away during the event.
