PUTNAM COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - The livestock judging is over, and now the kids will get another reward during the auction.

The bids were flying around the Putnam County Fair show arena on Friday as the kids who brought animal projects to the fair were getting rewarded for their months of hard work. Katie Bendele won the reserve grand champion waterfowl for her geese. She was not expecting to place that high in judging, and she also was not expecting to get $375 at auction for her work taking care of them.

"Usually I have the same buyers, but I never know how much he is going to give or whatnot. So, it's always kind of new for me, but it's always fun. With all the hard work put in, it was kind of like well deserved. It's really nice; I am going to use it for college," says Katie Bendele, 10 years showing.

Rebekah Bendele is also leaving the Putnam County Fair with a grand champion banner for her chickens and $650 from the auction for her hard work.

"Because it feels like man, I am getting all this because of all my hard work I put into the summer to raise my animals, that now I am getting the money for. So, this money goes into the bank for my future," says Rebekah Bendele, 5th year showing chickens.

The Junior Fair kids have one more day of fair fun to enjoy before they have to take their projects home on Sunday.
