LIMA, OH (WLIO) - It was a bittersweet day as one of our own was recognized at Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith's weekly media briefing.
Hometown Stations Chief Videographer Phil Thomas was surprised Wednesday morning as Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith called him to the podium. Thomas is retiring this Friday after 42 years of bringing the news from in and around the region into your homes. He started in January of 1981 as a film editor and moved up to chief videographer seeing many changes in technology along the way.
Mayor Smith declared October 18th as "Phil Thomas Day" in the City of Lima. We hate to see him go but we wish him well in this next chapter of his life. Congratulations Phil!
