ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) — Ignite 2025 is gearing up for a weekend of community service and is in search of volunteers to help with projects across Allen County. Scheduled for June 5th through 7th, the initiative aims to assist local residents in need, providing a wide range of services from home repairs to cleaning and landscaping.
The event, which is often referred to as a "missionary trip in our own backyard," is looking for volunteers with trade skills as well as individuals who can help with general tasks like cleaning, cooking, or organizing.

“We really just need a bunch of volunteers,” said Matt Naylor, Community Relief Director. “We need boots on the ground, people who want to love others, people who want to serve them in whatever need they have, whether it's a leaky roof or a faucet that doesn't drain right, or even landscaping that they just can't get to. I think we even serve some widows who just can’t clean their house anymore, who can't reach the top shelf. They need help cleaning and straightening. It’s really about coming and loving the person, not just the work.”
Ignite 2025 provides an opportunity for individuals, families, and groups to come together and make a positive impact in their community. Volunteers can participate in any capacity and are welcome to show up the day of the event.
