Lauck appears in Allen County Common Pleas Court

The alleged gunman in a 2017 shooting that left a Lima teen dead was back in Allen County Common Pleas court Friday morning.

Gavin Lauck appeared before Judge Jeffery Reed this morning for a motion hearing, where several motions including to suppress evidence surrounding his interrogation about events that happened on March 27th, 2017 - were presented before the judge.  Detective Jack Miller with the Shawnee Police Department was brought to the stand to talk about details about that interrogation - when 19 year old Damere Oliphant was found dead in front of the boarded-up Taco Bell on Shawnee Road.

Lauck is currently facing a 5 count indictment - including trafficking drugs, kidnapping, involuntary manslaughter, and 2 counts of murder, all of which he has pleaded not guilty.  Judge Reed says he'll submit and review the evidence presented and decide whether or not he will allow the motion to suppress.

Lauck will be in the courtroom once again February 9th for another motion hearing.
