LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Lima held a local Earth Day celebration as well as giving the community a call to action.
Held at Faurot park, Lima hosted an earth day event with many organizations joining to celebrate. Along with speakers and live performers, families were able to plant flowers, take home plants, and learn how to make a change for the planet. To kick off Earth Day on Wednesday, organizers want to bring awareness to attendees.
"Just really trying to spark some joy and love for the planet so we can kind of change our ways and doing a better job of being good stewards to the planet, you know," says Rae Neal, chair for Earth Day Awareness.
She adds to reduce, reuse, and recycle to help the earth. By doing small tasks like cleaning up trash can make the planet better for all.
