Some Lima City School students took time out of their day to help clean up a city park.
The Lima Kiwanis K-Kids and Builders Club went 2 by 2 through Robb Park picking up trash and debris as part of “The Spartan Give” project. The district’s school resource officers organized the community service project as part of the “Celebrate Public Schools: Experience Spartan Pride.” The students took pride in cleaning the park.
Kodi Neff, 6th grader at North Middle School says, “Well we wanted to clean up the environment. Cause since windstorms, trash has been getting everywhere. So, we just wanted to clean it up and make it non-trashy.”
4th Grader Emoni Durr from Independence adds, “I like doing it and I’m doing it because my mom signed me up and I like being K-Kids.”
Students across the district have been doing community service projects in the community for the past 2 weeks.
