Lima City Schools held a superhero-themed learning event for students and their families today.
Grades pre-kindergarten through fourth grade took part in an evening filled with games, prizes, "Make It and Take It Kits", and learning stations.
This was one of several family literacy events the district has held throughout the school year, with students from the Lima Senior Early Childhood Education program responsible for planning all the activities.
“What excites me the most would definitely be the joy that the children have, and seeing them learn and grow is really good. I love watching the children learn new things and grow more every day in their daily life, and it's good for us because we get more experience to do new things with the kids and learn new things; find new ways that we can teach the children and help them learn every day,” said Jayda Ball, Early Childhood Education senior at Lima Senior.

Lima City Schools, Laura Wells-Parent added, “The best part about the whole learning night at Lima City is just watching the intergenerational aspect of this and watching them all work together. It's great to see our big kids with our little kids and the parents involved too.”
It's a busy March for Lima City Schools. The district is holding an open house later this month and more stops on the way to nearby schools for the Spartan Ride.
