Lima City Council voted unanimously to vacate Jackson Street between Elm and Market Street, plus also vacate an unnamed alley. Dominion Gas will use the land to build an $11 million headquarters. Â
The company has been in Lima for over 100 years and they wanted to be part of the revitalization of downtown Lima. Now that council has voted to vacate the street, the company can go ahead with getting things in place before they break ground in October. Â
Dominion hopes to take possession of the new building next year, with the whole project to be complete in a couple of years.Â
