LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima's newest city councilman is hosting a new free event.
5th Ward Councilman Thomas Jones invites Lima residents to Unity in the Community: Mending the Gaps." The event will be held at Cook Park on May 18th from noon to 5 p.m. It will include a resource fair, and there will be clothing and food drives. Families can also look forward to music and a kid zone with free activities. Jones says it's important for the community to get to know the local agencies that are there to help them.
"Just different things—relationships with law enforcement, relationships with government—I think all those interactions are important for the community to engage with all different sorts of leadership and groups and different things that are available for them as a whole," he said.
There will also be a community kickball game at the event.
