We reported on Friday about the death of a local man in Yosemite National Park and we now have more details.

32-year-old Joshua Brock Conner of Lima died after falling into a river on Christmas Day. According to the Assistant Mariposa County Coroner, Conner died of head injuries at Emerald Pool. Officials say he apparently slipped down Silver Apron, a large sloping granite area above Nevada Falls and suffered a head injury. Responding to a 9-1-1 call, rangers were on the scene within an hour to pull him from the river.

Conner was born in Lima and a graduate of Bath High School as well as Rhodes State College. Arrangements are being made at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
