LIMA, OH (WLIO) - It was a busy day for Lima Senior High School seniors as they got a taste of life after high school.
The program "Real Money. Real World." is put on by Superior Credit Union and the Ohio State University Extension.
Students were given a career, a salary, a spouse, and some even got children. Then they had to live. They had to budget for housing, utilities, child care, transportation, and more. The program "Real Money. Real World." is put on by Superior Credit Union and the Ohio State University Extension to provide an interactive way of showing how budget and lifestyle choices can affect your bottom line.

"We're taking these made-up jobs, or real jobs that they have given to us, and we can implement our own structure of using money. Implementing our own budgets into the real world today," said Davyon Williamson, a senior at Lima Senior High School.
"It shows what you need to do in order to live a life. If you have kids, you have to pay for the expense of the kids. If you need financial help, you go to a financial advisor. If you have to pay off credit, you live the life of understanding how to live life," stated Malachi Ley, a senior at Lima Senior High School.
Superior does about ten of these events a year, reaching more than 30 schools in the region.
"So a lot of the kids are really surprised by the cost of the monthly bills that they have to go to. Childcare and housing are probably the two that we hear the most feedback from. The students are just really surprised with how expensive it actually costs," explained Chandler Clarkson, Superior Credit Union.
