The Lima Symphony Orchestra brass quintet visited the school to teach kids all about the trumpet, French horn, tuba, and trombone. They also learned why larger instruments make lower notes and the different mutes a trumpet player can use to alter their sound. The program featured both classic works and some songs from modern movies that the students already knew. The symphony hopes to get kids interested in both listening to and learning to play orchestral music.

"I decided to be a professional musician because a brass quintet came into my school. And so, to have the musicians right there in front of the students and to have them be able to ask questions, it's such an immersive experience. And so, it's really important to get them close to the musicians," said Maestro Andrew Crust, Lima Symphony Orchestra.
