Lima Symphony Orchestra prepares for annual “Bells, Brass and Bows” concert

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Lima Symphony Orchestra is tuning up for its annual “Bells, Brass and Bows” show this Saturday.

Guest conductor Conner Gray Covington will lead the symphony and chorus through a mix of seasonal favorites and sacred selections.

The program includes classics like the “Christmas Festival Overture,” and this year’s highlight is “The Twelve Days of Ohio Christmas,” a local twist on the traditional carol.

Executive Director Elizabeth Brown-Ellis says the show is a great way to relax and get into the Christmas spirit.

“This is such a stressful time of year, and I think for people to actually take two hours out of their very busy schedule and just sit in the concert hall and have that moment to reflect upon the meaning of the season, and also have that moment to celebrate the season. And that’s really what we try to do with this concert — bring in those moments of reflection, those moments of great joy, and just really entertain people and have a lot of fun and let people have that respite and get in the holiday spirit,” Brown-Ellis said.

The show is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at https://www.limasymphony.com/bbb
