It has been an event bringing thousands to the dance floor since the 1930s on Lima’s east side.
The Lincoln Park Dances are set to start Friday night (June 14th) with the big band sounds of Al Best Band. The dances have been entertaining people for decades reuniting old friends and creating new friendships along the way. Organizers encourage anyone who hasn't been to come out and give it a try.
“It’s a socializing type thing and also it’s a good exercise when you dance,” says Carolyn Detrick, Organizer for Lincoln Park Dances. “It’s a fun evening, it’s free and it’s open to everyone.”
Detrick says don't let the construction in and around Lincoln Park detour you from coming as there will be shuttle service from the parking lot near Memorial Health System to the Lincoln Park Shelter House during the dance which runs from 7 to 9 pm. The Friday Night Dances will continue through August 16th
