On Tuesday evening, Mayor Smith along with Fire Chief Andy Heffner, Lima City Council President Jamie Dixon, and several other city officials walked the city's Fourth Ward neighborhoods. The mayor and her team stopped and talked with several Fourth Ward residents about what issues they are observing and what they would like to see happen. After the walk, Mayor Smith talked with Your Hometown Stations about what concerns neighbors addressed.

"One of the conversations that we were able to have with residents was the issue in terms of speeding in their neighborhood, and so, Lima Police Department representatives were here. They were able to talk with neighbors about the upcoming pace unit and the quality of life enforcement. We were able to also identify some areas where we need to work on improvements for drainage. And, of course, a lot of these issues will not be issues that we're able to fix overnight, but we are out here, engaged, talking with neighbors, and trying to work towards solutions for what they're concerned about," explains Mayor Sharetta Smith, City of Lima.

Mayor Smith will continue her "Walking the Wards" series next Tuesday, May 7th at 5 pm beginning at Independence Elementary School. Additionally, the mayor and her team handed out flyers about this year's "Mayor's Spring Clean Up." The clean up begins this Saturday, May 4th at 9 am with dumpster sites at 900 S. Collett Street, Robb Park, and 1016 S. Central Avenue.
