After folks were done at the parade, Mulligans Irish Pub set up an axe-throwing event to go along with their Irish celebrations.
Two lanes were set up in the front parking lot and participants got 5 throws in each line. Even though the event was set up at a bar on one of the biggest drinking days of the year, the people behind the event were working to make sure everyone was as safe as they could be.
"The three owners actually are the axe masters," said Stephen Nungester, owner of Crash Entertainment. "We make sure that everybody plays by the rules and it's very safe. I know everybody's saying, oh, you're set up at a bar there's some dangers in that but it's up to us to determine who is still physically able to throw an axe."
Nungester said the event was a dry run to see how well it works as a local event.
