The east side of Lima has a new grocery store.
ALDI had its grand opening Thursday morning and gave away gift cards to the first hundred people in line. They also handed out eco bags and had plenty of samples to try. This ALDI store is big enough to support the new things that they want, which include some new products that customers have been asking for. It also tailors to those who live on the east side and saves them some driving time.
ALDI Director of Operation, Ryan Harmon says, "We knew that we were servicing a great portion of the population but we knew there were some folks that couldn't or didn't want to make the trip across the city so being over here we were able to then again service more people."
This store is part of the $3.4 billion ALDI investment to expand to 2500 stores nationwide by the end of 2022. ALDI currently has more than 1800 stores in 35 states.
