LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Ohio's Republican leaders want to make some changes to the state's new marijuana law that voters passed last week.
Governor Mike DeWine met with Senate President Matt Huffman and Speaker of the House Jason Stephens to talk about potential changes before the marijuana law takes effect on December 7th. DeWine wants to limit children's exposure to marijuana, by saying where it can be smoked, limiting access to edibles, and putting guidelines around advertising. Also, they would take the tax money that was approved to go to social programs and give it to law enforcement, which will help with efforts to keep people from driving while high. Democrats say their leadership and Ohioans should be included in any changes made to the law.
