Box after box after box coming out of Forest Park United Methodist Church as the 709 collected get ready for their trip down the interstate. The church has been collecting the blankets since the beginning of September and with the generosity of others and the support of a few local businesses, hundreds of veterans will feel the warmth of the Lima community.

"It's a blessing to do this to help and God's will to help our veterans that's in need. A lot of veterans are in the hospital and it gets lonely up there and this shows that we really care for them," said Ron Frank, organizer.

Frank says they hope to do a collection again next year. He will check with the VA to see what is most needed at that time.
