Park rangers cracking down on vandalism around reservoirs and parks

Lima park rangers are cracking down on vandalism around the reservoirs in the area.

The Rangers, along with the Lima City Utilities Department, have installed more than a dozen cameras near the reservoirs and also in several of the city parks. Randy Kohli, the head park ranger for the City of Lima, says that vandalism has become a major problem. and that the cameras are hopefully gonna stop it in its tracks.

"This is our water source, this is that those don't realize if something would happen to the reservoirs it would affect our city water and we don't want any of that to happen. We want our good citizens of Lima to feel safe and that we're well protected and that we got a clean environment out here within the city. The folks can come out and enjoy the recreational facilities," said Kohli.

The cameras have been up since March. Kohli says that they have had involvements with 25 people since the cameras were first installed.
