Police Escort to Prom

Talk about making an entrance, a group of Lima Senior students had a show-stopping moment at prom this weekend

The group of seniors wanted to make their last prom unforgettable and they did, thanks to the help of a Lima police officer. The officer escorted the students into their last prom with sirens and headlights, giving the group of students one final chance to shine before leaving for college.

According to Amy Hobson, the Lima Senior mother who organized the escort, "This cop, doing this for us, she didn’t have to, it was her day off. And that just shows there are still good cops there are still good people. Not everything has to be negative like people saw the cops coming, they’re like, “what happened, what are they here for?” this time it was for something positive."

But the students did more than stop the show, they hope they also made a statement.

One of the escorted Lima Seniors, Malik Hobson said, "We’re trying to go out like we’re a positive group of 2018, all graduating and going to college, we want to be the kids that younger kids look up to."
