Putnam County has extended their property tax deadline to give people more time to file.
The property tax was originally due on June 20, but officials decided to extend the date to July 20th. Putnam County Commissioner Vincent Schroeder says they are allowed to extend the date by 30 days.
He says they do this every year, and most people will file their taxes on time, but this gives more time to those who might be busy or are on vacation.
Schroeder says even though the date is extended they still ask everyone not to wait until the last minute.
