Putnam County Fair names 2018 King and Queen

Move over Mehgan and Harry, the new royal duo is Megan and Reese.

There were three men and three women up for the title of Putnam County Fair King and Queen. Reese Mangas and Megan Schulte were picked to rule for the next year. Both have been bringing animals to the fair for the last 9 years. Reese has been showing hogs and rabbits while Megan shows dairy feeders and market steers. Both are looking forward to representing Putnam County around the state for the next year.

“It’s really a great accomplishment, to represent our county and go see other fairs and have a good time and see how other fairs operate differently than ours," Reese Mangas, Putnam Co. Fair King.

"It’s an honor being the queen, it's the highest honor that a junior fair member can receive, I am very honored to represent Putnam County this way. I am looking forward to traveling to all of these fairs and seeing all the difference and similarities, it’s going to be really fun," said Megan Schulte, Putnam Co. Fair Queen.

Also Monday night, the Putnam County veterans organizations came together to honor those men and women that served in our military and those who passed away this past year. Plus high schools from around the county entertained the crowd at the annual Marching Band Spectacular.
