PUTNAM COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Putnam County Judge Keith Schierloh swore in eight elected officials for the county.
Putnam County Judge Keith Schierloh swore in eight elected officials for the county.
Among those eight, Tim Wehri and Brad Brubaker have been sworn in as new Putnam County commissioners. Wehri has filled the commissioner seat held by incumbent Vincent Schroeder, while Brubaker has filled the commissioner seat held by incumbent Michael Lammers. Wehri and Brubaker will join current Putnam County Commissioner John Schlumbohm, whose term expires at the end of 2026.
After the swearing-in, we talked with both Wehri and Brubaker about what they would do as commissioners to lead Putnam County forward.
The other elected officials sworn in today were Brian Siefker as Putnam County Sheriff, Jennifer Maag as coroner, Michael Lenhart as the county engineer, Tracy Warnecke as treasurer, Kimberly Redman as clerk of courts, and Sherrilyn Britsch as the recorder.
"The last commissioners have done a really, really, really good job of leaving the county in a great financial situation, and I would like to thank both of them for that, for leaving us that, and I just want to make sure that the money is spent wisely across the county and as many of the departments as possible," said Tim Wehri, who was sworn in as Putnam County Commissioner.
"I want to look at, in regards to, infrastructure. I have already talked with our maintenance and just want to be, in some ways, more proactive with maintenance. Our buildings aren't falling down, but I think we can be a little more proactive instead of trying to come up with solutions that are kind of last minute to some structural things, so just trying to come up with a better plan that helps financially also," said Brad Brubaker, who was sworn in as Putnam County Commissioner.
