PUTNAM COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) – A high-speed pursuit that began in Putnam County and stretched across multiple counties ended with a crash and the arrest of a Virginia man.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on State Route 15 near Road E. The driver refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit that reached speeds over 100 miles per hour. The chase continued through Putnam, Defiance, and Henry counties before the suspect lost control and crashed the vehicle. No injuries were reported in the incident.

The 22-year-old driver, who authorities say is from Virginia, was taken into custody and returned to Putnam County. He faces a felony charge of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer. Deputies also confirmed the man had outstanding warrants for his arrest from the United States Marshals Service.
