(NBC) - Nestlé USA is recalling more than 440,000 Starbucks-branded mugs due to burn and laceration hazards. The mugs were included in four gift sets sold during the past holiday season.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reported 12 incidents of the mugs overheating or breaking after being microwaved or filled with extremely hot liquid.
The mugs were sold online and in stores nationwide at Target, Walmart, and NEXCOM military retail outlets.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website, those seeking a refund can contact Nestlé USA at 1-800-681-1676 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, or online at https://www.nestleusa.com/media/pressreleases/metallicmugrecall or https://www.athome.starbucks.com and locate the “Metallic Mug Recall” link at the bottom of the page.
