Remembering Randall Smith

Friends and family of a sailor killed in a mass shooting was remembered at a memorial service in his hometown of Paulding, Ohio Saturday.

Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith died two days after a shooting in Chattanooga, Tennessee that also left four marines dead.

Hundreds of people paid their respects to the memory of Smith.

Motorcyclists organized by the Legion Riders gathered at First Christian Church before heading south to Paulding High School where a memorial service was held.

Security for the memorial service was tight with extra officers on hand for protection.

The entire town was touched in some way by Smith’s death and many property owners decorated their homes and businesses to reflect what Smith’s service to our country meant to them.

Smith is survived by his wife and three small daughters.
