CRIDERSVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) — The Equestrian Therapy program hosted a day full of riding and activities to raise money for those who benefit from therapy with horses.
This is the 32nd year the program has held a ride-a-thon fundraiser at Fassett Farm. This year’s theme was the Renaissance, with young riders becoming knights and ladies as they moved their horses around the arena. About half of the nearly 70 riders using the program helped raise donations for the event. Raffles and silent auction items were also available to help reduce the cost for riders participating in the program, which offers physical therapy and more.

“With every step a horse makes, that's over 120 different movements in their body that they're creating in your body. So physically, it does a great job. Emotionally, it, you know, bolsons, their spirit. It really increases, you know, their I can do it, attitudes. So, it's just amazing. And we have many nonverbal autistic kids that have said their first words here," said Michele Andrews-Sabol, executive director of the Equestrian Therapy Program.
