NEW BREMEN, Ohio (WLIO) — For the first time in nearly three decades, New Bremen can celebrate a win over Coldwater.

The Cardinals snapped their three-game losing streak with a gritty 16–7 victory Friday night, earning their first win against the Cavaliers since 1997.

Both defenses came out strong early. Coldwater’s Griffin Lefeld delivered a big sack that nearly caused a turnover, while New Bremen’s Jaylen Powell answered with a sack of his own to keep things tight through the first quarter.

The stalemate finally broke when Gavin Dicke rolled out and found Gavin Quellhorst in the end zone for the game’s first score. From there, New Bremen’s defense held firm, stifling a Coldwater offense that had scored 105 points in its last two games.

With the win, New Bremen improves to 3–5, while Coldwater falls to 5–3 in Midwest Athletic Conference play.
