WAYNESFIELD, Ohio (WLIO) — Waynesfield-Goshen overcame a sluggish first half with a dominant second-half performance, scoring 33 unanswered points to defeat Perry 33-9 on Friday night in a Northwest Central Conference (NWCC) showdown.

Perry (3-3, 3-3 NWCC) led 9-0 at halftime, capitalizing on a first-half safety and a short rushing touchdown by Sylas Johnson following a strong kick return from Jaiden Luster to open the second half.

But from there, it was all Tigers.

Waynesfield-Goshen (5-3, 4-2 NWCC) responded emphatically, scoring on a series of drives that shifted momentum and left Perry scrambling. A quick touchdown early in the third quarter sparked the rally, and the Tigers never looked back, using a mix of explosive plays and stout defense to seal the victory.

The win strengthens Waynesfield-Goshen’s standing in the conference as the regular season winds down, while Perry will look to bounce back in the final stretch.
